Diosa
Praise for Diosa
“Celeste Alyssa Gomez’s Diosa is a gorgeous exploration of femininity, bodily autonomy, and reclamation of power. With conciseness and brevity, she moves with ease between poems about the physical manifestations of love, to poems about mental illness, grief, and healing. Her work most shines when she is defiant and unyielding against past abusers, nay-sayers, lovers. Yet she is also unafraid to be vulnerable as she misses her mother, mourns for her hometown, and asks for help. Throughout the collection, she gives the reader permission to be both soft and strong, delicate and a force to be reckoned with. That, her poems argue, is what makes us all truly diosas.”
— Sofía Aguilar, Author of amor
“Diosa is a collection of poetry rooted in empowerment, where every page invites the reader to celebrate the author’s strength. From honoring origin and family to reclaiming identity and growth, Celeste creates space for the reader to love, grieve, and transform their own experiences into resilience. Diosa is both a tribute to heritage and a call to rise into your own power.”
— Raquel Reyes-Lopez, Author of Born To Electrify
“Young poets like Celeste Gomez remind us that poetry is a sacred alchemist always inviting us to reflect, heal & spread our wings.”
— Davina Ferreira, Alegría Publishing Founder & Writer
“Celeste’s words illuminate the power of being a woman—grieving the girl within while reclaiming the strength to become anew. Once we embrace that power, love flows with greater ease. Diosa reminds us that the goddess within is always ours to awaken.”
— Solany Lara, Author of Hija de mi padre
Diosa Description:
DIOSA is the sequel of her poetic work as an Author, Artist, and Writer. This collection alongside, BESOS means so much to her. This collection of work began development when her first book launched in 2022. It took her three years to write, edit, and even change this book entirely. The meaning of DIOSA for her means a variety of things - from writing this is she learned that she can be both soft and powerful. She knows where to let both of those traits shine independently and collectively. In other meanings, it also represents the beauty and home that is our body and how we should honor it. She hopes these poems were able to give you healing, comfort, and ultimately a home within you. They did that for her.
